Option.
How
to Order TeemWork's Multi-User Option.
To
activate the multi-user option for your computer, you only need to know the
name of your computer (the
'Server Name' when you do a local LOGIN)
and how many licenses you want to order.
The
first license is free and is assigned to the machine that contains the
TeemWork database. You need one additional license for each other computer
that will share your TeemWork database.
The
price is US$100 for each extra license. You can add as many or as few licenses
as you want, whenever you want. Contact us at Sales@TeemWork.com
to order them. Please mention the name of the server that you want to license
in your email.
Upon
receipt of your payment, we will send you an 'Activation Code' via
email.
How
to Activate TeemWork's Multi-User Option.
Begin
with a local LOGIN as a system administrator of any TeemWork team.
Your
local database contains data for a sample team called DEMOE. The Administrator of
that team is Katherine Harris.
To
LOGIN as if you were Katherine Harris, specify Team Name = DEMOE, User ID = KATH and
Password = SECRET.
Make sure that the Server Name field contains the
name of your computer. You cannot activate the multi-user mode for your
computer if you specify 'TeemWork.Net'.
After
the LOGIN, select 'Manage Users' on the menu bar.
When
the 'Manage Users' windows appears, select the 'System' tab, the rightmost tab.
You will see a button labeled 'Manage Licenses' (except
if you are logged in as user 'READONLY')
.
Click
on the 'Manage Licenses' button and this windows will appear:
In
the example above, we see that TeemWork has been installed on computer 'PCJPG'
and we see that only one computer is licensed to use the TeemWork database on
that computer.
The

Upon
receipt of your payment, we will send you an 'Activation Code' for your
server via email.
When
you receive it, enter the number of computers that you want to license, copy
the activation code into the text box above the 'Licence x computers ...'
button and then press that button.
If
you entered a valid 'activation code', your server will be enabled for the
number of licenses that you specified. Other computers can then start sharing
your TeemWork database immediately.
How
to insure that the Multi-User Option will work in your environment.
Installing
applications that run over a network sometimes reveals networking or other
problems. You may want to test to insure that other computers on your network
will be able to share your TeemWork database once the multi-user mode is
activated.
To
test this, begin by installing TeemWork on a computer that you want to test,
then LOGIN with that computer using Team Name = DEMOE, User ID = KATH and Password =
SECRET.
The
Server Name must be the 'ServerID' of the computer where the
database is located. In the figure above, the 'ServerID' of the computer is 'PCJPG'.
After
the multi user option is enabled, the LOGIN should work. Before
the multi user option is enabled, you should get this error message when you
try to LOGIN "Connection to server established. Multi-User mode is not enabled
on that server. Login aborted."
If
you do get this message, then you know that TeemWork has been able to connect
to your database and you can be assured that the computer that you tested will be able to
share your database when TeemWork's multi user mode is activated.
If
the test fails, the cause is usually a typing error or some problem about
networking. If you can, try the same test using another computer. If you can't find the problem, contact us at
support@TeemWork.com,
we will help you if we can.
You can
repeat the same test for all the computers that will eventually be allowed to connect to your
TeemWork database.
