User Access Rights

In TeemWork, each user is individually granted specific Access Rights to the team's 'contacts'.

The team administrator(s) has access to the 'Manage Users' window.  This window contains the different administrative tabs.

The 'Access to Contact Type' tab sets the access level for the team users to the 'Contacts'.  It is the 'Access to Contact Types' tab and its check boxes which when  checked can provide these rights.

The 'Manage Users' window appears below.  The 'Access to Contact Types' has been clicked.

By selecting the user with a click on the row, the administrator can set the types of contact types the user will have access.  In addition to the type of contact, the administrator can click the check boxes adjacent the 'Contact type.'

This user team has a contact type of 'Client.'  The levels of permission allowed on the 'Contact' card window to set with these check boxes.

When a user has full permission of a contact type, the administrator clicks each box.  In the example below, all 4 boxes are checked.  The user has full rights to the contact type 'Client'.

The next slide illustrates the same user's contact window.  The contact type, 'Client' appears in the drop down list.  The user has the right to view 'Client' contact cards.

The user also has the other three rights.  They appear in the window in the form of buttons.  The buttons are:  'Save', 'Add a new Contact' and 'Show Follow-ups'.

Let's see how the contact window appears when the user has fewer rights to a contact type.

In the situation when the user is not allowed to do follow-ups, the administrator clicks the 'Can Follow Up' check box.  The check mark is removed.  This is illustrated in the next slide.

The user who has no Contact 'Follow-up' rights can not see the 'Show Follow-ups' button on the Contact 'card.'  The Contact card below does not have the 'Show Follow-up' button.

Users can also be allowed or not allowed to add new Contacts to the 'Contact Type' list.  If the user has the 'Can ADD' check box unchecked the user can not add additional Contacts.

The 'Add a new Contact' situated at the top right hand corner of the Contact window is invisible to the user.  The user cannot add a new contact.

A user can also be given only the 'view' right to a contact type.  In the next slide, the 'Can View' check boxes is checked.

The user can access the contact type 'Client'.  They cannot modify the information, add a new client or do follow-ups related to the client.  Below is an example of a single check boxes checked.

The Contact card has all three buttons turned off and are invisible.  This shown below.

Of course, the administrator can allow zero access to a particular contact type.  In the next example, the user has no access the contact type 'Client'.

It is impossible for this user to access the 'Client' contact list.  As is shown below, the user has rights to access to various contact types but cannot access the client type 'Client'.

To enable a user to access a contact group at least the first check box, 'Can View,' must be checked. The other three boxes can be checked or unchecked in any combination that the team requires for each user.
